Key helps clean shoe spike, ball and golf club

Posted: 03 Dec 2011 02:01 AM PST

Dipan Saha:

Dirty shoe, soiled club and muddy ball, you could find all these three in a combination only in a golf course. You would get arrangements to clean them in any golf course. But, hardly there is any single unit which is capable of cleaning all of them. Key unifies all those cleaning activities. It is an innovative, on the course golf equipment cleaner, capable of cleaning shoe spike, ball and of course clubs. It allows players to do cleaning themselves. Golf clubs can install one such cleaning set up near each hole.

With trash within the spike of the shoe, you can't hold onto the surface very well, which affect stability of your stance. And one wrong teeing stance could be enough to spoil your day in competition. Clubs get dirty with soil and grass. Debris in the club head could result in weight imbalance and imperfect distribution of force across the club head and loft. Balls run around the course and gather dirt on them. Mud or dirt on the dimples (characteristics of golf ball) results in uneven and uncontrolled swings. But, Key helps clean all the three problems.

Key does lot many works to maintain the golf course:

1. It cleans shoe, club head and ball independently.

2. More than one player can use it.

3. Hands don't get dirty.

4. It can be installed as ready to use unit.

5. Helps players to perform well.

How key works?

Crucial fact behind the successful design of KEY is that it has found out three specific cleaning mechanisms, each for ball, club and shoe spike, and combined them in a single aesthetically beautiful structure.

1. Ball is cleaned in the top most compartment. The square shaped compartment houses cleaning brush, ball mover and a ball driving lever. Once you push the dirty ball down through a hole inside the cleaning box it pass through the cleaning brush. You just have to drive the lever down to get the ball.

2. Next job is to clean the club head. KEY has provision of a tap with water supply line. To clean the debris on the club head, hold it under the open tap. Flowing water would wash away dirt and debris. After that lift the upper compartment with the handle; you would find the brush to wipe out the water on the club.

3. Last mission is cleaning the shoe spikes. KEY has surface full of shoe cleaning bristles on the lower part of the body. To remove trash from the spikes just scrub the spiked surface on the bristles.

So, wish you a very happy dirt free teeing!

You may need some courage to sit on the Origami-inspired Katra chair

Asmita Prasad:

Origami- the fine paper-folding art has been the tool that many a young men with dexterous fingers have used to impress young women and soothe wailing, fussy children with. One of the best known cultural imports from Japan after sushi, ramen noodles, sumo wrestling and the kimono, Origami has also found many devotees in the interior design disciplines that have employed the ancient far eastern art to good use in providing decor masterpieces. However, as much as we like to see a delicate swan being crafted out of folded silken paper adorn our mantelpieces, sitting on something that looks like an origami chair has never been quite confidence-inspiring for even the daintiest of maidens. We're not sure whether designer Fanny Joseph for design studio Aparte has Japanese paper-folding at the forefront of her consciousness when she fashioned the Katra Chair, but you have to admit, the chair does look a lot like an origami masterpiece.

Fashioned using Ramie fiber, the experimental design is created to appear delicate which belies its sturdy construction. A clever mix of experimental textures, unique styling and innovative form, the Katra Chair offers users a fresh new perspective on how far the limits of traditional furniture design can be pushed without the piece in question losing its form and functionality. Though the chair may look a little unstable, its solid construction ensures that it can hold the weight of a fully-grown adult with ease. Having been designed at an angle, the deliberate gap between the back of the chair and its seat forms a nice visual continuity in its form when the chair is viewed from the side while the charcoal hue of the textile allows it to fit into the more modern genres of furniture construction.

The Katra chair is created with a high back that allows it to be used as a living room chair, as well as a standalone occasional chair and a dining room chair. The versatile design can also be superbly employed to furnish a deck set and the chair looks just fabulous paired with a wrought iron table with a glass top when used for an outdoor set. The texture of the ramie fiber allows the chair to do without any additional layers of upholstery though the chair can be retrofitted with fabrics to give it a fresh look. Created using sustainable construction techniques, the Katra Chair is the prefect example of natural fibers being used in place of leather and wood and complements an Eco-friendly décor to the tee.

SPiNe City Bike is handy and virtually theft-proof

Asmita Prasad:

OK, so there may not a be a massively popular multi-player RPG dedicated to the menace of bicycle theft, but having your bike stolen is still enough to piss anybody off, especially since most of us living in the cities are trying very hard to get off our gas-burning set of wheels an d make the green turn. To counter the pesky problem of bike theft, designer Ronen Spector has come up with an ingenious new bicycle concept that would make it virtually impossible for nabbers to do pick the lock of your precious bike and ride away in it. Called the SPiNe City Bike, the concept basically comes with a fool-proof security system that is incorporated within the structure of the bicycle's frame itself.

The quick to lock and easy to unlock mechanism responds only to a key and the owner does not need to carry any additional bike chains and padlock to secure their bikes in parking spaces, bike stands and even on pavements. A ribbed spine-like structure attached to the base of the bicycle's handlebars also forms the top tube when the bike is in use to give it stability to the frame. The same structure can be readjusted to form a tube-like lock around a pole or a bike-stand to secure the bike. This "spine" can only be opened and closed with the help of a key and any attempts to open it otherwise will damage the whole body of the bicycle and render it useless.

Waterluce MP01 Nautical Lamps are a seafarer’s best mates

Posted: 02 Dec 2011 03:32 PM PST

Asmita Prasad:

For people who love sailing, the sea is like a second mother and their sailboats are their homes away from home. This particularly hardy breed of people is unfazed by the harsh realities of a life on the water and they embrace every challenge offered by the sea with a smile on their faces. But even for the most ardent of sea-lovers, the trappings of modern life are almost unavoidable and most of them like to equip their boats and yachts with modern amenities. While bigger boats can afford to have a dedicated space for batteries that can illuminate the whole sea craft, owners of smaller boats often have to get by with the bare minimum equipment and more often than not have to make do with candles and flashlights at night to conserve the battery power for use by the boats' electronics when sailing. To help sailors enjoy a quite night on the sea without having to burn candles or struggle with flashlights, Dutchman Mas Peters has come with an ingenious solution called the MP01.

Waterluce MP01

Produced by the Dutch company named Waterluce founded by Peters, the MP01 is basically a weatherproof and waterproof lighting solution for sailors. The MP01 fender light is a waterproof and sustainable lamp that comes with an air-filled shade that keeps it cool to the touch and makes it safe for use on various surfaces of the boat.

Providing a smooth surface for easy set up, the flat-based MP01 does not get warm very quickly and does not get damaged with extensive use. Made out of high quality materials, the multifunctional and sustainably designed MP01 can be used as a suspension light when hung from the boom of the boat or even as an ambient light when left floating in the water around the boat.
