. Blue Dream II-Green Superyacht By Aras Kazara

Blue Dream II-Green, Superyacht, Aras Kazara
Yachts have always been known for their eminence, catering to the proverbial ‘high’ society historically, since Charles II of England selected this vessel of choice on his return to Britain from Holland, for his restoration. And now it will take the eminent and rather important ‘green’ step forward, with innovative conceptions such as Blue Dream II-Green coming into the market.

Designed by Aras Kazar, this 67m long marine craft will feature a simplistic exterior, which would be rather in stark contrast with its ostentatious interior. Constructed from steel and aluminum, the four deck superyacht will have a capacity for 12 guests including her owner and captain. The spatial zoning will be efficiently envisaged with two guest suites situated on the main deck and a further two suites on the lower deck for up to six guests. The master suite will incorporate a plethora of luxury elements like a private office, a bar and even a Jacuzzi. The main deck will be divided into a main lounge area, a formal dining/conference room, a library, a gym and two Jacuzzis. The interior color combination is touted to be chocolate brown with a pristine white theme.

Now moving on to the sustainable elements, the craft will feature an advanced array of solar panels. The exterior will be designed in such a way so as to allow the optimum usage of clean solar energy for all the on-board facilities and systems. Aras Kazar says:
“Blue Dream II is an environment friendly yacht that will generate 100 per sent of its electricity from the sun. The superyacht has been designed to provide 360 degree views of the ocean thanks to large windows.”

The performance specs are estimated to be as follows – the yacht will have a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising range of 2,500 nm at 20 knots.

Sunbeam Tiger Concept By Ryan Skelley

Sunbeam Tiger, Electric vehicle, Ryan Skelley
With the advancements in the field of batteries and electric motors, new transportation concepts are popping up, promising high performance and stylish design. The new “Sunbeam Tiger Concept” is another concept that can answer the question raised on the performance and speed of electric cars as compared to other vehicles. The concept was designed as a part of final year project of Coventry University’s design course by Ryan Skelley. It’s a two-seater lightweight vehicle powered by a lithium-titanate battery pack. That means a zero emission engine with better performance.

If you remember, the Sunbeam Tiger holds the land speed record achieved in 1925. This new concept can be considered as a rebirth of its previous version. Theoretically, the vehicle can achieve a 0-60 mph speed in 2.3 seconds and can go up to an electronically limited 160mph top speed. Once the battery is fully charged, which will take 4 hours with an optional charger, the Sunbeam can take you up to 800 miles. It’s not at all a bad performance for an electric car.

A zero emission engine is not the only factor that makes this ride environmentally friendly, but even the materials used in construction also include eco-friendly material. Recycled aluminum makes the chassis that also features integrated rollover protection for the user. Body panels are made from hemp fiber and are eco-painted as well. Further, making it more ethical, the design incorporates an interior made from soy foam seats covered with natural bio-fabric.
Wait, it wasn’t the last eco-friendly feature; lastly we have tires made up of cornstarch and natural fiber for the brake pads. Honestly, if this concept ever hits the road, it will be a green landmark.

Toyota Prius Alpha Orders 8 Times Higher Than Expected Demand

Toyota Prius Alpha, Toyota sales, Toyota Prius demand, green automotive design, hybrid minivan, alternative transportation, green transportation
Since the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Toyota has been struggling to bring its factories back up to normal production level – they’re aiming to return to full capacity by the end of the year. That’s a bad problem, but now the automaker has a good problem: orders for its new Prius Alpha hybrid minivan have soared to 25,000 in the first month – that’s 8 times the expected demand. Can the company keep up?

Toyota Prius Alpha, Toyota sales, Toyota Prius demand, green automotive design, hybrid minivan, alternative transportation, green transportation It’s likely that Toyota won’t be able to keep up, despite the fact that the company just announced the car will at least be released on time in the U.S. (it is called Prius V here and the Prius Alpha in Japan), but that’s not entirely bad news — at least not for Toyota.
Just as prices of the first- and second-Gen Priuses shot up far above MSRP as demand outstripped supply when the hybrid sedan was first introduced, the increased demand for the Alpha model could mean Toyota and its dealers will at least make a decent profit while they’re scrambling to catch up, which will help the company recover from the hits it has taken in recent months. Just be prepared to pay if you want to be the first on your block to own an Alpha MPV.

The VW camper may have made a name for itself in the 70′s as ‘the love bus’, but here’s a re-design that’s ready to trample over all that peace, love and flowers. If you’ve ever wondered what a VW camper van/tank hybrid looked like, you can now stop wondering. Certainly a marvel of human design and creativity, this conduit of destruction has been recycled two out-of-service vehicles to create a riveted 1945 M29 Weasel super-bus.

Granted the vehicle isn’t the greenest thing on the planet, but you have to admire a project that recycles two vehicles and turns it into a tracked caravan that can traverse snow, sand and other rugged terrain.
Everyone is familiar with the benefits of the VW camper, but you may not be familiar with the M29 Weasel. Designed by Studebaker for the Second World War, the M29 Weasel is powered by a 70-horsepower, 196-cubic-inch, L-head inline six. It can cross a 36-inch ditch and roll over a 24-inch-tall barrier at a speed of 35 miles per hour.
If you are interested in purchasing this awesome creation, it is for sale at a car dealer in California. We think this will be right at home among Schwarzenegger’s multiple Hummers…
